My Story
I was born on August 20, 2007, in Brazil. From the age of three until I was about twelve years old, I lived with epilepsy. During those years, I experienced many seizures, and it was a very difficult time for both me and my family. My parents were always by my side, supporting me through every challenge, and I will always be grateful for everything they did for me.
Thankfully, by God’s grace, I overcame that chapter of my life and today I no longer have epilepsy. Going through those experiences taught me to appreciate life, stay strong during difficult moments, and never give up on my dreams.
As a child, I loved playing soccer, riding my bike, playing video games, watching cartoons, and spending time with my family and friends. One of my favorite cartoons was Regular Show on Cartoon Network. I also enjoyed playing the guitar and the violin, which became hobbies that I still appreciate today.
Since I was young, I had one big dream: to study abroad. However, there was one obstacle standing in my way I didn’t speak English. At first, that dream felt very far away.
Everything started to change when I enrolled at CNA English School. There, I gained not only English skills but also the confidence to communicate with people from different countries and believe that my dream was possible. I am deeply grateful to all the teachers and staff at CNA for their dedication and support. Thanks to everything I learned there, I was able to come to Canada and continue improving my English every day while pursuing my goals.
The beginning of a dream
When I decided I wanted to come to Canada, it was crazy. At the time, I couldn’t imagine that one day this dream of mine would be possible, and at first I didn’t believe it, until I started packing my bags and until the long-awaited day arrived, boarding the plane. And during all that time, I couldn’t stop taking photos and capturing moments.
Saying goodbye to my family and friends was sad, but I will carry them in my heart forever.
The Arrival!
When I arrived in Vancouver, I confess that the city enchanted me. The lights, the squares, the colors, the unique way of life and culture—everything captivated me and made me fall in love with the city. When I arrived, I was afraid I wouldn’t make friends, but thank God I met wonderful people who always support me and are there for me through thick and thin, even when things go wrong.
Where I’m today
Today, I can honestly say that everything worked out better than I ever imagined. Living in Canada has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Every challenge, every difficult moment, and every sacrifice has been worth it. Being here reminds me every day that dreams really can come true when you work hard, stay patient, and never stop believing.
I am especially grateful to God for guiding me throughout this journey and for giving me the strength to overcome every obstacle. Looking back at everything I have been through, I realize that every challenge prepared me for where I am today.
I am also incredibly thankful for the amazing friends I have met along the way. They have become like a second family to me. They support me during difficult times, celebrate my achievements, encourage me to keep going, and remind me that I am never alone. Having people like them in my life has made this experience even more meaningful, and I will always be grateful for each one of them.
A Message to Anyone Who Dreams of Studying Abroad
If you have a dream of living or studying in another country, don’t let fear stop you. Learning a new language, leaving your family, and starting over can be scary, but every step is part of your growth.
Study as much English as you can, save money, be patient, and don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. There will be difficult days, but there will also be unforgettable moments that make everything worthwhile.
Most importantly, never stop believing in yourself. Sometimes the biggest dreams seem impossible until the day they become your reality.
